The United Way of Southwest New Mexico is proud to host the most comprehensive program for matching individuals (and families!) in need with the programs and services available in our community.
Give Help
The United Way of Southwest New Mexico is in constant contact with area programs and agencies and the common denominator is that every organization could you a little help if you have something to give! Giving isn’t limited to cash contributions either — many programs are in need of supplies and in-kind donations too.
The Community Connect Database is searchable by the help you have to offer, whether you an give your time, gently used home items, books, canned goods … you get the idea! If you are interested additional information about the UWSWNM’s volunteer coordination efforts please visit the Volunteer Page.
The Community Connect Database is a free service provided by the United Way of Southwest New Mexico in which nonprofit agencies, governemental agencies, companies that provide critical community services, and informal gatherings such as support groups are invited to provide information about their organization and the respective programs/services and volunteer opportunities available.
Through Community Connect you will be able to:
How to Get Started
Click on the red button, “Get Connected Now,” at the bottom of this page.
How to find Volunteer Opportunities
The first choice is “Give Help.” Volunteers will be able to enter the kind of services that they would like to provide (office, mentor, web design) or the population they would like to work with (children, adults, animals). The agencies which need these services will be displayed. Volunteers can review the options and directly contact the organization where they might like to volunteer.
How to find Help for Yourself or Someone Else
The second option is “Get Help.” This is the information and referral query. The public can search for needed services (food, housing, day care, recreational activities, etc.).
How to Receive Updates about new Volunteer Opportunities
The third option is “Login.” This can be used by volunteers (not agencies) who have already registered. If volunteers formally Login, they will be given access to additional options.
How to Learn More
You can examine the information on the web site by clicking” Opportunities,” “Programs” and “Agencies” under “Local Statistics.” This same information (and more) is available at the top of the Welcome Page.
